BINTANGNEWS.com – In response to
criticism from Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama who claimed that
he was hiding wealth abroad, deputy gubernatorial candidate Sandiaga Uno hit
back saying Ahok has no understanding of transparency on private wealth.
Accompanied by
gubernatorial hopeful and running mate Anies Baswedan, Sandiaga handed over his
wealth report to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday, while
Anies had already handed his report to the antigraft body soon after he lost
his ministerial post. Sandiaga said his report to the KPK was part of his
commitment to wealth transparency.
Previously, Ahok said
he would not participate in the tax amnesty program as suggested by Sandiaga,
as he claimed that he had no funds abroad.
Sandiaga then
criticized Ahok for the Jakarta administration having not received the highest
mark or even the reasonable without exception (WTP) mark from the Supreme Audit
Agency (BPK) while under his leadership.
Sandiaga also
criticized Ahok for not urging his supporter group Teman Ahok (Friends of Ahok)
to audit the donations they had collected to fund the collection of one million
ID-backed signatures to support Ahok’s previous bid to run on an independent
ticket.
The Gerindra
politician said he had prepared his report in regard to spending for his
candidacy in the last year.
“I have consulted with
the Indonesian Accountants Association (AIA). I will report all my
expenditures: salaries for members of my team, contributions tomajelis
taklim (Islamic stady
groups), everything,” Sandiaga added.***
