Ahok visits the sick, monitors health services

BINTANGNEWS.com – Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama visited sick residents in their houses on Jl. Kalibaru Barat, Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Thursday morning. He refused to talk much to the media.
"We only chatted and [I] gave encouragement and prayed for the sick. Some of them won't be able to vote for us, but at least we can pray for them," Ahok said.
He asked the residents about the quality of health services they were receiving.
One resident visited by Ahok was Rosna, 72, who was immobilized after she slipped and fell during a flood last month.
Her daughter, Irmalasari, 35, said Ahok asked her whether her mother was registered with the Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan).
"Pak Ahok asked whether she [Rosna] was registered with the BPJS. He also asked us whether the hospital representatives had visited us," Irma said.
She added that the governor had asked her whether her mother preferred to use a wheelchair or cane, to which she replied a wheelchair.
Ahok also visited Abdul Gani, 77, who suffered a stroke six years ago.
Hadijah, Abdul's wife, said Ahok asked her about the health assistance received by the family.
Previously, Ahok visited sick residents in several places including, in Pademangan, North Jakarta, and Jatinegara, East Jakarta.***
